The Global Report 2022
2023
This report provides an overview of 2022 data on refugees, returnees, internally displaced people, stateless persons, and others of concern from the Office of the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR). It describes the regional and global work of the UNHCR, presenting achievements and challenges related to guarding human rights in 2022. The report also provides information concerning UNHCR’s funding and progress toward key focus areas, including internal displacement, statelessness, climate action, and working with development partners.
The report highlights efforts to meet challenges of record levels of displacement, as an unprecedented 108 million people were forcibly displaced in 2022. The report also includes featured sections on UNHCR regions.
Readers can visit UNHCR’s Global Focus website—the primary operational reporting platform for donors—to learn more about UNHCR’s work, key themes and objectives, and the impact of UNHCR’s funding and expenditure on the lives of asylum-seekers, refugees, and internally displaced persons.
