UNICEF Country Profiles: Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting

2020

This web portal, offered by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), provides country profiles which include key facts and data on female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) for 31 countries. Each profile includes information about the prevalence and methods of FGM/C in that country, as well as attitudes toward the practice by both women and men. Profiles integrate the most recent data available, ranging from 2005 to 2019, and when possible, document trends in prevalence and attitudes as well. Profiles are available individually or as a 31-country compilation.

UNICEF is a leading humanitarian and development agency working globally for the rights of every child, including fundamentals like safe shelter, nutrition, and protection from disaster and conflict.
