GBD 2019: Mortality Data Interactive

2020

This data interactive, presented by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), allows users to visualize and compare global mortality estimation data from the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) 2019. Users can select between child and adult mortality as well as sources and comparison values, and view trends on color line graphs and a time-animated world map. The process of estimation is described in detail and the tool contains data starting as early as 1950.

Led by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington, GBD is a global effort with researchers from over 150 countries and territories. IHME and other partnering organizations have developed numerous resources to disseminate and visualize the findings of the GBD studies, data visualizations and interactives, country profiles, policy reports, research articles, infographics, and the GBD Results Tool, which allows users to search GBD data.
