Visualizing Health

Visualizing Health is a web portal dedicated to helping users effectively communicate risk information related to health. The accompanying report walks through use cases for various graphics. A sample risk calculator illustrates the best design concepts from the report. 

Educators will find this site useful for designing teaching materials, activities and assignments, and student projects that build numeracy/data visualization skills. The tested visualizations are distributed via a Creative Commons license, which allows anybody to adapt them for their own objectives. Visualizing Health is a joint project of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Michigan Center for Health Communications Research.
