The World's Largest Lesson

2024

The World’s Largest Lesson, an educational portal from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), provides resources for educators to introduce the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development in their classrooms. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which set the agenda for the global community for 2030, aim to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change. These goals echo GHELI’s focus on world health, which captures the interdisciplinary nature of current global problems and solutions.

Educators can search for lesson plans and visual resources by grade level or goal, from Goal 3: Good Health and Wellbeing to Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities. Resources also include a short, free course for educators wanting to teach others about these SDGs.
