SDG Academy

2024

SDG Academy, an online learning portal offered by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), provides free courses on sustainable development topics including health, education, climate change, and agriculture and food systems. Each course—ranging from structured to self-paced options—includes video modules taught by experts in the field, suggested reading lists, peer-reviewed assignments, and discussion posts. The courses are organized by Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), by expert, and by course pacing.

The SDSN is a network of academic and research institutions, launched in August 2012 under the auspices of United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, with the goal of mobilizing global scientific and technological expertise to implement development objectives such as the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. The network supports integrated approaches that address the interconnected social, economic, and environmental challenges facing the world today. The SDSN also supports other sustainable development efforts including the Global Solutions Forum, which brings together experts from around the globe to present local initiatives that address sustainable development challenges; the Thematic Research Network on Data and Statistics, which supports research on data innovations, local capacity building, and virtual knowledge-sharing across key areas; and National and Regional Networks, which include hundreds of institutions worldwide that support the localization of SDGs and their implementation.

SDSN membership is free and open to universities, research institutions, foundations, and civil society organizations that are committed to finding and implementing solutions for sustainable development.
