War in Cities: ICRC Casebook

This series of eight case studies, published by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), explores the impact of modern armed conflicts on urban civilian populations, who are increasingly bearing the brunt of such wars. These cases focus on three major challenges related to urban warfare: the conduct of hostilities, the effects of war on vital services, and threats to cultural heritage. The series also provides links to online videos and lectures produced as part of the ICRC’s 2017 Conference Cycle on War in Cities, along with related articles, reports, and multimedia resources for further learning.
