Financing Global Health 2021: Global Health Priorities in a Time of Change

This report from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) provides estimates for current and future global health spending and health financing. The report includes estimates for domestic spending on health, development assistance for health (DAH), and future health spending for countries worldwide. This year’s report includes two particular areas of focus: development assistance for COVID-19 and funding for pandemic preparedness, presenting estimates of pandemic preparedness and response (PPR) spending from 1990 to 2021. This edition of the Financing Global Health report also provides updated projections of future health spending for 204 countries up to the year 2050. The report also includes up-to-date financing profiles for seven health focus areas: COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, other infectious diseases, reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health, and non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

The report is accompanied by a data visualization tool, downloadable data tables, a supplementary methods annex, and infographics.
