The Vera Institute of Justice works to build and improve justice systems that ensure fairness, promote safety, and strengthen communities. The organization’s core priorities include reducing the number of people held in U.S. jails; cultivating a justice system that delivers access, safety, and fairness to the diverse communities in the U.S.; and improving conditions of confinement.
