Western Public Health Casebook 2017

2017

This online book is the third annual collection of 12 cases written by students in the MPH program of the Schulich Interfaculty Program in Public Health at Western University, Canada. The cases touch on diverse topics in public health, including rural maternity services, food policy implementation, mental health among First Nations men and boys; epilepsy awareness in elementary schools; surveillance for rare infectious disease outbreaks, prison transitioning, and more.

Two introductory chapters summarize the casebook’s strengths and a concluding chapter provides outlines from integrative workshops in 2015-2016. Each case includes guidance for instructors, including learning objectives and discussion questions. The cases (also available for individual download) may be freely copied and used for educational purposes by an accredited educational institution. Explore the individual cases:
