UNAIDS Data 2023

2023

This data publication from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) provides the most up-to-date data on the world’s HIV/AIDS epidemic, providing global, regional, and country-specific estimates. This report offers numerous data visualizations and statistics outlining the current state of HIV worldwide, with data broken down by region, gender, at-risk populations, and age group.

The report includes overview summaries of the regions below, which provide data on new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths, testing and treatment services, punitive laws and policies, and investments to end AIDS in the region. In addition, the report provides country-specific profiles that include epidemiological data over time, and data on HIV laws and policies, prevention measures, stigma and discrimination, and gender inequality and violence. Educators may find country-specific profiles useful for lessons and assignments that allow students to compare countries in terms of both their epidemiology and the social determinants of health.
