ReliefWeb is a humanitarian information portal under the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Human Affairs (OCHA). It contains over 720,000 reports, evaluations, guidelines, and additional resources, and works to provide reliable, up-to-date information on global crises and disasters around the world. ReliefWeb monitors and collects information from more than 4,000 sources, including humanitarian agencies, governments, think tanks, research institutions, and the media. They aim to curate and deliver relevant content that can help global humanitarian workers and decision-makers plan responses and make evidence-based decisions.
ReliefWeb provides several information portals with headlines, reports, documents, press releases, maps, infographics, and country updates. The Updates portal includes the latest headlines, news reports, and situational updates about crises and disasters. ReliefWeb also offers a country portal with key content for each country that it monitors as well as more detailed information about countries experiencing humanitarian situations. Users can explore an interactive color-coded map of the world, which indicates countries with ongoing situations and countries with real-time disaster alerts. ReliefWeb also provides information about organizations with which it collaborates to address crises and disasters, a comprehensive topic portal covering humanitarian themes and specific crises, and a blog with important updates. Users can also access several other tools and services provided by the OCHA.
