ABLConnect

2024

ABLConnect is an online resource portal run by the Bok Center for Teaching and Learning (in collaboration with various partners) that contains a database of active learning activities educators can use with post-secondary students. The site houses hundreds of activities previously implemented in classrooms and geared towards undergraduate, graduate, and professional students across a wide array of disciplines. In addition to activity summaries, the portal contains downloadable materials, video tutorials, interviews with instructors, and links to additional resources. Content is searchable by activity type, subject area, learning goals, timeline, student scope, final product, and assessment type.

Of particular usefulness to educators and teaching fellows is an “Activity Type” portal describing different ways to promote active learning in the classroom with real-world examples, how-to guides, and research.

It was founded in early 2012 by Dustin Tingley, Professor of Government at Harvard University, and Leslie Finger, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of North Texas, and initially hosted through the Institute for Quantitative Social Science(IQSS).
