Pew Research Center is a nonprofit think tank based in Washington, D.C. that focuses on current issues, attitudes, and trends in the United States and worldwide. Pew conducts social science research, demographic research, public opinion polling, and data analysis, and produces reports, studies, and feature resources. Pew aims to inform the public and contribute to public dialogue while being nonpartisan and data driven.

The Center’s research focuses on these major areas: Politics and PolicyReligionScienceInternational AffairsImmigration and MigrationRace and EthnicityGenerations and AgeGender and LGBTQFamily and RelationshipsEconomy and WorkInternet and TechnologyNews Habits and Media; and Methodological Research. For each of these topics, the Pew Center provides several kinds of resources including report publicationsinteractive features such as quizzes, maps, and databases, and datasets available for download. Pew also maintains a blog, “Decoded”, that explains the methodologies used in research, as well as Data Labs that also explore different computational research methods and analysis strategies. Users can also view the “FactTank”, a news portal with up-to-date reports and analyses from researchers and writers at the Pew Research Center.
