APHA Fact Sheets: Climate Change

2023

These fact sheets from the American Public Health Association illustrate the different public health dimensions of climate change, ranging from its impact on children’s health to its influence on mental health. As one of the largest public health threats today, climate affects the health and wellbeing of all people, but especially that of vulnerable populations.

The American Public Health Association (APHA) is an organization of public health professionals focusing on health reform, science-based advocacy, and policy programs in the United States. APHA publishes the American Journal of Public Health and The Nation’s Health newspaper and hosts an Annual Meeting for convening leaders to share the latest research in public health. APHA aims to improve health and equity within one generation by advocating for federal policy changes and providing ongoing professional development opportunities for health workers. Its work includes leading public health initiatives and campaigns, sharing public health resources, and collaborating with policy-makers to address critical issues.
