This data interactive from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) examines patterns of children overweight and wasting using data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019. The visualization allows the user to look at trends over time in the double burden of malnutrition for countries around the world. Data from each year is projected onto a map and changes every few seconds, allowing the user to look at differences in disease burden between 2000 and 2019. Trends can be viewed on a variety of scales, from nations to local villages—or 5-by-5-kilometer areas.
