Maternal Health Atlas Fact Sheets

This web portal from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) Maternal Health Atlas provides fact sheets on the status of maternal health and factors that contribute to maternal deaths. Users can interact with data on the country and regional level or download the population profile for each available country or region. Each fact sheet provides an overview of population statistics for each place, an evaluation of the country or region’s progress based on previous trends, data on changes in health outcomes from 1990 to 2017, and the status of each country or region according to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for improving the health and well-being of all mothers by 2030. Each profile also provides a comparison between the country’s causes of maternal death to the global average. These fact sheets are part of the Maternal Health Atlas web portal where users can also interact with information on global trends in maternal health from 1990-2017, key drivers of maternal deaths, a breakdown of the disease burden of maternal deaths and complications around the world, and a related report publication.
