Key Facts on Health and Health Care by Race and Ethnicity

2023

This data publication from Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) presents the most recent data on health and health care by race and ethnicity in the United States. The publication analyzes data across several measures, including health coverage, access, and use; health status, outcomes, and behaviors; and social determinants of health. The publication evaluates data for six racial/ethnic groups in the U.S., finding that Black, Hispanic, and American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) people have worse outcomes across most measures of health coverage and access to care compared to their white counterparts. In addition to analyzing a wide range of health measures, the publication provides a brief overview of the disparate impacts of COVID-19 on people of color, providing insight into the status of racial and ethnic disparities in health and health care in the U.S.
