WHO/Europe

2024

The World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe (WHO/Europe) is the specialized international health agency of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the European Region. It works with its 53 member countries and territories to address communicable and noncommunicable diseases and their causes, to strengthen health systems, and to respond to emergencies and disasters that arise by partnering with local ministries of health, government agencies, civil society organizations, and other partners. WHO/Europe aims to support the right of everyone in these countries to good health, to ensure that people live longer, healthier lives, and to promote sustainable development among communities and families in the WHO European Region.

WHO/Europe publishes a multitude of timely information related to pressing health challenges in the region, including fact sheets, regular publications, and data portals focused on key health statistics. Of note is the flagship European Health Report, published every three years. WHO/Europe also maintains a media portal with news, press releases, stories of individuals and public health leaders, and other campaigns and initiatives.
