Lancet Series 2022: Child and Adolescent Health
2022
This Lancet Series examines pathways toward optimizing child and adolescent health and development worldwide. This series follows nearly two decades after the original Lancet Series on child survival was published and finds that progress toward child and adolescent health has been too slow - with the world off track to reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for child health. The papers emphasize supporting the health and development of children from preconception through adulthood and discuss investment in strategies spanning health, education, and social systems.
The papers in this series outline evidence for a holistic approach toward child health, including addressing sexual, reproductive, maternal, childhood, and adolescent health and nutrition and development.
Series papers include:
- Health and Development From Preconception to 20 Years of Age and Human Capital
- Effects of Early-Life Poverty on Health and Human Capital in Children and Adolescents: Analyses of National Surveys and Birth Cohort Studies in LMICs
- What Can Work and How? An Overview of Evidence-Based Interventions and Delivery Strategies to Support Health and Human Development From Before Conception to 20 Years
- Improving Health and Social Systems for All Children in LMICs: Structural Innovations to Deliver High-Quality Services
The Series articles are accompanied by two commentaries.
