Improving Maternal and Newborn Health and Survival and Reducing Stillbirth

This report from the World Health Organization (WHO) examines global progress on maternal mortality, neonatal mortality, and stillbirths, analyzing country efforts toward meeting global targets. The report assesses progress toward the Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP) - Ending Preventable Maternal Mortality (EPMM) targets, presenting data estimates and identifying priority areas of improvement. The report finds that estimates of maternal deaths, stillbirths, and newborn deaths remain significantly high worldwide, with Central and Southern Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa having the highest number of deaths. The report also includes country spotlights, which detail case studies of implementing maternal and newborn health care.    
 
The report is accompanied by the ENAP/EPMM dashboard, which presents country and regional values for mortality indicators for mothers and newborns.
