Global Status Report on Physical Activity 2022

2022

This report from the World Health Organization (WHO) examines global progress toward improving physical activity levels, as outlined by the Global Action Plan on Physical Activity 2018-2030. The Global Action on Physical Activity (GAPPA), established by the WHO, provides policy recommendations for countries to reduce levels of physical inactivity by 2030, including developing policies to ensure safe roads for walking and cycling and increasing accessible recreation opportunities.

This report presents countries' progress in implementing these recommendations and estimates the costs posed to health systems if physical inactivity goes unaddressed worldwide. The report is accompanied by an executive summary, data annex, and downloadable country profiles
