Tenet Healthcare and Conifer Health Solutions

2016

This case study examines the relationship between Tenet Healthcare, the third-largest for-profit hospital chain in the United States, and its subsidiary Conifer Health Solutions, a health services company. It describes Conifer’s information technology programs, which help healthcare providers with population health management and revenue cycle management, and explores Conifer’s rapid growth and the best relationship it might have with Tenet moving forward given the synergies and potential conflicts presented by the existing parent-subsidiary arrangement.

This case study is offered for a small fee by Harvard Business School Publishing, which serves as a bridge between academia and enterprises around the world through its myriad publications—including cases, articles, simulations, books and chapters, online courses, and “core curriculum” modules on foundational topics—and content-delivery platforms.
