2024

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is a United Nations agency that was established to support the relief and human development of Palestine refugees. Founded in 1949, UNRWA is mandated to support and provide assistance to Palestinian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine - specifically the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

UNRWA is funded mainly by UN Member States and safeguards and advances the rights of Palestine refugees by delivering key services, such as education and healthcare services, as well as cash, food assistance, relief services, and other emergency assistance. The agency also engages in private and public advocacy and addresses cases of human rights abuses and violence against vulnerable groups. UNRWA produces a variety of resources, including publishing major reports, downloadable fact sheets, and a news portal
