Global Approaches to Regulating Electronic Cigarettes
2017
This article in Tobacco Control examines national policies of 68 countries regulating e-cigarettes. Although all countries had policies tackling the issue from various angles—through bans, marketing restrictions, and taxes, for example—the authors found that approximately 23 countries out of 68 identified countries do not have regulations written specifically for e-cigarettes, but rather apply existing tobacco control regulations to these products. The article concludes that most of the countries in the world are not regulating e-cigarettes using national regulatory approaches.
