E-Cigarette Use Among Middle and High School Students — United States, 2022

This brief in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report presents data on e-cigarette use among middle and high school students in the United States in 2022. The brief analyzes nationally representative data gathered from the 2022 National Youth Tobacco Survey (NYTS), a cross-sectional, school-based survey of U.S. middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) students. The study includes data on current e-cigarette use (past 30 days), frequency of use, device type, brands, and flavors used. The findings show that 2.55 million U.S. middle school and high school students reported current e-cigarette use in 2022.
