The Forum - Mental Health and Wellness for Students of Color: Transitioning to College

2019

This webcast seminar from The Forum at the T.H. Chan School of Public Health examines the alarming increase in mental health issues among U.S. college students of color and the current gaps in campus responses to these trends. According to recent data, students of color feel both more isolated and overwhelmed than their white classmates, but are simultaneously less likely to seek counseling services on campus. In light of this troubling data, experts will explore evidence-based policies to cultivate positive, healthy experiences for college students of color, especially during the transition to college. This event was presented in partnership with The Steve Fund and jointly with HuffPost as part of the Forum’s “Policy Controversies” series.
