Eradicating Polio in Pakistan: An Analysis of the Challenges and Solutions

This article from Globalization and Health explores the challenges and solutions to the increase of polio cases in Pakistan during 2014. Pakistan is one of the few remaining countries in the world where poliovirus continues to affect its population, and total eradication is dependent on Pakistan’s ability to address the numerous determinants that prohibit effective vaccination. These determinants range from religious and socioeconomic barriers to discrepancies in immunization and safety concerns.
