Lancet Series 2015: Antimicrobial Access and Sustainable Effectiveness
2015
This Lancet Series examines access to and the sustainable effectiveness of antimicrobials globally and at regional and national levels. The first two papers provide insight into the mechanisms and drivers of antimicrobial resistance, its disease burden, and the potential effect of vaccines in restricting the need for antibiotics. The last three papers examine access to and the sustainability of antimicrobials at a more geographical level: reviewing access in low- and middle-income countries, considering different policy domains and their effectiveness at national and regional levels to combat resistance, and identifying gaps in the current global effort to improve international collaboration and achieve key policy goals.
Series papers include:
- Access to Effective Antimicrobials: A Worldwide Challenge
- Understanding the Mechanisms and Drivers of Antimicrobial Resistance
- Maximizing Access to Achieve Appropriate Human Antimicrobial Use in Low-Income And Middle-Income Countries
- Exploring the Evidence Base for National and Regional Policy Interventions to Combat Resistance
- International Cooperation to Improve Access to and Sustain Effectiveness of Antimicrobials
