Where Are the Sex Workers?

2017

This case study follows a community outreach worker as she considers how new legislation to criminalize those who purchase sex will change her outreach strategies to provide health care for sex workers affected by the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). This case would be suitable for use in community and public health courses to facilitate understanding of how legal policies and stigma can impact effective health care delivery.

The case includes guidance for instructors, including learning objectives and discussion questions. It is part of a 12-case collection written by students in the MPH class of the Schulich Interfaculty Program in Public Health at Western University, Canada. The cases may be copied and used free of charge without permission for any educational uses by an accredited educational institution.
