Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) Global Survey Report

2017

This report from the World Health Organization explore the current status, strengths, and challenges of increasing access and coverage of essential child health interventions through the Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI). Since the mid-1990s, IMCI has promoted the evidence on effective interventions, delivery approaches, and technologies to achieve the goal of ending preventable newborn and child mortality. In particular, this report examines global progress on three IMCI components: improving health worker skills, strengthening health systems, and improving community practices. The report culminates with country cases, which present an overview of IMCI implementation of guidelines, training, quality of care, and gaps at the country level.
