Canada's Largest Health Website Goes Social (A)

2017

This short case is the first of two that describes changes made to Canada’s largest consumer health information website, PasseportSante.net, as it transitioned from its initial form in the late 1990s to a more contemporary interface that includes social media. The case describes the website’s goals and history, how PasseportSante.net compared to other prominent health websites, and how the site’s leadership approached decision-making in the transition.

This case study is offered for a small fee by Harvard Business Publishing, which serves as a bridge between academia and enterprises around the world through its myriad publications—including cases, articles, simulations, books and chapters, online courses, and “core curriculum” modules on foundational topics—and content-delivery platforms.
