Global Food Security Index: Data Portal

2022

This data portal from Economist Impact provides up-to-date data related to the core issues of food security—affordability, availability, quality and safety, and sustainability and adaptation—in 113 countries. The index is constructed from 68 indicators and is designed to be a dynamic quantitative and qualitative benchmarking model that measures the drivers of food security. The Global Food Security Index (GFSI) provides an overall score for each country, along with scores for each of the four issues of food security the Index measures.

Users can explore individual country profiles, which include data for each indicator of the 2022 Index, and can be compared against global and regional averages, a table with 2022 country rankings and trends in food security, and a global overview map to compare countries' overall scores. The portal also includes a resource library, which includes the Global Food Security Index 2022, a report which synthesizes many of the key findings of the index research, which celebrates its eleventh edition this year.
