Review of the Draft Fourth National Climate Assessment

2018

This report review from the National Academies Press (NAP) evaluates whether the draft Fourth National Climate Assessment (NCA4) – a report addressing a wide range of topics of high importance to the U.S. and broader society – meets the requirements of the federal mandate, provides accurate and evidence-based information grounded in science literature, and effectively communicates climate science, impacts, and responses for the public, decision makers, and other stakeholders. The draft NCA4 elaborates on matters ranging from human health and community well-being, to the built environment, to the private sector and economies at-large, to ecosystems and natural resources, overall providing insightful knowledge into how to adapt to and mitigate climate change.
