The Impacts of Climate Change on Human Health in the United States

2016

This report from the U.S. Global Change Research Program evaluates multi-sectoral factors that are currently or are anticipated to be threatened in the context of climate change. The authors have identified nine categories ranging from temperature-related death and illness, to food safety, nutrition, and distribution that help to illustrate the wide-ranging and urgent effects that climate change has on a host of health factors. The report includes valuable, informative data figures that connect the context of climate change issues to their factors and outcomes, as well as a chapter specifically dedicated to “populations of concern,” or groups especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
