This online book is the fourth annual collection of 17 cases written by students in the MPH program of the Schulich Interfaculty Program in Public Health at Western University, Canada. The cases touch on diverse topics in public health, including refugee resettlement services, mental health interventions in elementary schools, Safe and Positive Spaces in the context of the LGBTQ+ community, sexual assault prevention, housing and health, waste management, and more.
The introductory chapter elucidates essential skills for public health and the concluding chapter provides outlines from integrative workshops in 2016-2017. Each case includes guidance for instructors, including learning objectives and discussion questions. The cases (also available for individual download) may be freely copied and used for educational purposes by an accredited educational institution. Explore the individual cases:
