Don't Miss the Bus: Ottawa's Walking School Bus

This case study spotlights the interaction between the chief medical officer of health at King Region Public Health (KRPH) in Ottawa, Canada, and the director of its Health Promotion portfolio, as they discuss the importance of making evidence-based decisions when formulating health promotion initiatives tackling obesity. This case would be suitable for use in classroom discussions about systematic reviews, evidence-based public health, and health promotion.

The case contains guidance for instructors, including learning objectives and discussion questions. It is part of a 17-case collection written by students in the MPH class of the Schulich Interfaculty Program in Public Health at Western University, Canada. The cases may be freely copied and used for educational purposes by an accredited educational institution.
