RESPECT Women: Preventing Violence Against Women

2019

This brief report from the World Health Organization (WHO) outlines a policy framework for ending violence against women. Physical, sexual, and psychological violence against women is a major public health and human rights problem rooted in gender inequality, and affects the lives and health of millions of women and girls worldwide. The RESPECT framework builds on the 2015 United Nations Prevention of Violence Against Women Framework, along with new data, to facilitate the scaling up of evidence-informed strategies to prevent violence against women. The report is accompanied by a summary of key messages and a video
