Exploring Lessons Learned From a Century of Outbreaks

2019

This 2019 report examines the lessons from influenza pandemics and other major outbreaks. The report summarizes the findings of two National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine workshops aimed at understanding the extent to which lessons learned could be applied to help countries prepare for future pandemics. This publication summarizes the presentations and discussions from both workshops, and includes a commissioned background paper.
