Sustainable mHealth Innovations – Repurposing the Collective Comfort Pilot Project

2019

This case study from the Western Public Health Casebook 2019 focuses on the repurposing of the Collective Comfort project (CC Project) after it loses funding. The CC project is a mobile health (mHealth) initiative providing safe, online social support services for people with anxiety disorders. Since the pilot project is coming to an end, the Digital Innovation team is tasked with repurposing the CC project mobile application for three other organizations – the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, Homeless Hub, and Veterans Affairs Canada. This case follows the development of each of these projects, as only one will be selected as the winning proposal.

This case contains guidance for instructors, including learning objectives and discussion questions. It is part of a 14-case collection written by students in the MPH class of the Schulich Interfaculty Program in Public Health at Western University, Canada. The cases may be freely copied and used for educational purposes by an accredited educational institution.
