Hidden in Plain Sight: The Differentiated Impacts of Internal Displacement

2024

This web portal from the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) is a collection of resources focused on better understanding the impacts of displacement on specific groups: children, women, men, youth, older populations, members of minority groups, and disabled populations. Much of the current research on internally displaced peoples (IDPs), according to IDMC, is presented at the national level and clumps IDPs into one large group – often leaving behind the most vulnerable populations. These resources, ranging from briefs to reports, focus on challenges specific groups face and the most effective way to assist them. Information on vulnerable groups provided in this web portal can support governments and other actors as they implement policies and interventions.
