When it comes to presenting a “snapshot” of information, word clouds and infographics are especially useful for the economical use of text, visuals, and space. Word clouds can capture big picture trends, priorities, and feedback. Infographics can distill data into succinct stories, in a way that text alone can’t communicate. A variety of digital tools exist to virtually design word clouds and infographics that can be shared in multiple formats.
The Global Health Education and Learning Incubator at Harvard University (GHELI) has curated a few, free tools to inspire thoughtful, engaging infographics and word clouds. These resources could be leveraged in the classroom, hybrid, or online learning environments, and can support the creation of creative, hands-on classroom assignments and projects.
