Resource Pack: Global Maternal Mortality

2023

This resource pack supports teaching and learning about global maternal and reproductive health, with a focus on the primary drivers of maternal mortality (e.g, fertility control through access to family planning and safe abortion, and high-quality obstetrical care) and the disproportionate burden experienced by at-risk and vulnerable populations.

Global reports, review articles, fact sheets, country profiles, and data portals provide insight into global trends, country-specific situations, and both national and global progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals. Resources discuss the most relevant social determinants of health, illuminating disparities across race, ethnicity, socioeconomic position, and educational status, and explore the evidence-based interventions and strategies needed to reduce morbidity and mortality.

The Global Health Education and Learning Incubator at Harvard University supports interdisciplinary education about world health through the production, curation, and dissemination of educational public goods.
