2023

These country profiles from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) present country-level data on the status and progress of implementation of tobacco control measures across 35 countries in the Americas region. The profiles offer a two-page summary for each country, with data on the progress made across the six "MPOWER" measures, the prevalence of tobacco use for youth and adults, and information on tobacco prices and taxes over time. The profiles are available in PDF format.

The country profiles accompany the Report on Tobacco Control for the Region of the Americas 2022which provides an overview of the status of tobacco control in the Americas and the implementation of policies to combat the tobacco epidemic. The report presents the latest data on the prevalence of tobacco use and trends in the Americas, and analyzes progress toward implementing “MPOWER” measures, the six tobacco control measures established by the World Health Organization (WHO).
