Global Health and the Future Role of the United States

This report from the National Academies Press (NAP) discusses the role that the United States has played in addressing global health priorities. It highlights the importance of continuing American investments in global health initiatives as a way of protecting U.S. interests and security, enhancing productivity and economic growth at home and abroad, and fostering innovation and leadership. Compiled by a committee with support from a number of federal agencies, foundations, and private partners, the report identifies emerging and continuing global health threats and makes recommendations for increasing responsiveness, coordination, and efficiency in addressing these challenges.
