Big Data and Analytics for Infectious Disease Research, Operations, and Policy

This report, published by the National Academies Press (NAP), summarizes a workshop about the power and possibility of big data in infectious disease surveillance, diagnosis, operations, and policy. Key points of discussion included preventing, detecting, and responding to infectious disease threats using data and analytics; varieties of data and their broader applications; means to improve data collection and use; and cross-sector approaches to inform big data strategies for infectious disease research, operations, and policy.
