Ensure Universal Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Reproductive Rights: Measuring SDG Target 5.6

This data publication from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) tracks global progress on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Target 5.6, which focuses on sexual and reproductive health rights. In particular, this publication examines progress on Indicator 5.6.1 and 5.6.2, which track the barriers and human rights dimensions of sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights. Beyond measuring the legal and regulatory framework for these rights, these indicators also capture women’s decision-making agency regarding their reproductive health care, contraceptive use, and sexual relations. Collectively, this publication contributes key information to answering the broader question: Does a country have positive legal and normative framework that empowers all women and girls?
