Data Portals: State of Inequality: HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria

2021

These data portals from the Global Fund and the World Health Organization (WHO) accompany the State of Inequality: HIV, Tuberculosis, and Malaria 2021 report and provide interactive data visuals on HIVtuberculosis (TB), and malaria inequalities worldwide.

Users can explore disaggregated data from the full report for each of these three diseases, including visualizations presenting the current state of inequalities, changes in inequalities over time, the potential for global improvement, and the association of disease incidence to various social determinants of health. Data can be explored by population group, topic, and inequality dimension, including sex, economic status, education, etc. Additionally, data can be organized by country, and various indicators can be explored to visualize the state of global inequality for each disease.

The State of Inequality: HIV, Tuberculosis, and Malaria 2021 report draws on global data from the past two decades to assess the current state of HIV, TB, and malaria inequalities and compare how they have changed over time. With HIV, TB, and malaria accounting for more than two million deaths per year, the report aims to monitor and quantify the global state of inequality for each disease, provide data on key populations, and offer approaches to improve inequality monitoring considering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end the AIDS, TB, and malaria epidemics by 2030.
