Progress of the World's Women 2019 Dashboard

2019

This data portal from the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women) accompanies the Families in a Changing World: Progress of the World’s Women 2019-2020 report. It provides the most recent data on topics related to women’s health including household composition and living arrangements, labor force participation rates by sex and marital status, law and legal frameworks, as well as migration trends. This data can be broken down by specific data and social indicators, geographical area, and sex. All of the information provided can be viewed in either a grid or bar graph format.

The Families in a Changing World: Progress of the World’s Women 2019-2020 report features global, regional, and national data on the status of women around the world, particularly within families, considering current economic, demographics, political, and social transformation. Families around the world can be places of care and fulfillment for women, but are too often also spaces where women’s and girls’ rights are violated, their voices are stifled, and where gender inequality prevails. This report proposes a comprehensive family-friendly policy agenda to advance gender equality in diverse families, which in turn would enable economies and societies to thrive and unlock the full potential of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is accompanied by an executive summary, global and regional fact sheets, infographics and data tables, and multimedia features such as video, photos, and “stories of change” from around the world.
